Just received your citation?

Start with the date it arrived.

For a notice of contest and other responses, OSHA counts 15 working days from the day your company received the Citation and Notification of Penalty, not the day it was issued. Enter that date to see the estimate. Nothing is counted until you do.

Your response timeline

For certain responses, including a notice of contest, OSHA counts 15 working days from the day your company received the citation, not the date OSHA issued it. Enter that date to see the estimate.

The date it arrived (for example, the certified-mail delivery date).
An estimate from the date you enter. CiteClock does not verify when your citation arrived. Weekends and observed federal holidays are excluded; special closures or case-specific orders can change the timing. Confirm with the issuing OSHA area office or a qualified professional. How OSHA counts working days: 29 CFR 1903.22(c)

Then: your abatement packet

Once the hazards are fixed, certification is generally due within 10 calendar days after each abatement date (29 CFR 1903.19). CiteClock drafts the packet from the public record. OSHA publishes records a few weeks after a citation is issued; if yours is not there yet, upload your copy of the citation instead.
